Ten-Cent Daisy

Ten-Cent Daisy tells the story of three sisters, Daisy, Violet, and Orchid, who fled their small Caribbean fishing village after Daisy was assaulted by the local pastor. They have been living in California, semi-estranged from each other. Daisy, who has been keeping contact with her daughter Zara, is found by a retired police inspector who informs Orchid that their mother, Iris, is free from prison and in ill health. The sisters must come together to confront their past and their mermaid heritage, which they have been keeping secret. Alongside their journey, they encounter a photographer who's losing his sight, an exotic fish, and a longtime family friend Meera who has her own motives. Ultimately, Daisy must make a choice between her mortal family and her true identity as a mermaid. Will she embrace her heritage or protect her loved ones? The film is a poignant and powerful exploration of family, identity, and healing.
