Elke persoon die je tegenkomt op straat heeft een verhaal te vertellen. En zonder dat wij het weten zijn onze levens vaak verweven met die van mensen die wij niet eens kennen. Dit gegeven vormt de basis voor de film Tapas. De zieke Don Mariano wordt verzorgd door zijn vrouw Conchi. Op het oog een lief dametje maar ze heeft minder onschuldige nevenactiviteiten.Vaak is Conchi te vinden in de bar van Lolo,die ook zo zijn besognes heeft. Zonder dat de klanten het mogen weten heeft Lolo een Chinese kok aangenomen die de kookkunst van zijn weggelopen vrouw moet evenaren.
