Summerland

Alice is a strong-willed and independent writer who has closed herself off to the world after a painful past experience. When she is forced to take in a young evacuee named Frank during World War II, she is initially resistant but eventually opens up to him and learns to love again. As they spend more time together, Alice recalls her past relationship with Vera, who broke her heart but is now revealed to be Frank's mother. Through their bond, Alice discovers the power of second chances and learns to heal old wounds. The film takes place in 1940s England, where Alice lives in a seaside cottage in Kent. The story follows her journey from isolation to connection and love, as she learns to care for Frank and confronts her painful past.
