Suburbicon

Suburbicon is a movie that takes place in the late 1950s in a peaceful, all-white neighborhood called Suburbicon. The community is shaken by the arrival of an African-American family, the Mayers. Gardner Lodge, a seemingly mild-mannered family man, lives in Suburbicon with his paraplegic wife, Rose, and their son, Nicky. One night, two robbers break into their house, tie the family up, and knock them out with chloroform. Rose dies from an overdose, and her identical twin sister, Margaret, moves in to help take care of Nicky. Margaret soon begins to transform herself into Rose, dyeing her hair blonde and having sex with Gardner. The Lodges are called to the police station to identify the robbers, but they say the police have the wrong men. The robbers demand money from Gardner, threatening to kill Nicky and Margaret if he doesn't pay. With tensions mounting between the residents of Suburbicon and their new African-American neighbors, an insurance agent named Bud Cooper arrives at the Lodge's doorstep and begins to question Margaret. He suspects her and Gardner of murdering Rose to collect on the insurance policy. That night, as a protest at the Mayers' home turns into a riot, Cooper returns and attempts to blackmail Gardner and Margaret. They kill him and hide his body. Margaret attempts to kill Nicky with a poisoned sandwich and milk after he catches her in a lie. The movie ends with Gardner and Margaret's dark secrets being revealed, and they are arrested for their crimes.
