State and Main

In the small town of Waterford, Vermont, a big-budget film production throws the residents' lives into chaos when they move in to shoot their movie, "The Old Mill". The film's director, Walt Price, and his crew face challenges when they discover that the town's historic mill, which is central to the film's plot, no longer exists. The leading man, Bob Barrenger, gets into trouble when he starts a romance with a local teenager, Carla. The film's leading lady refuses to do her nude scene unless she's paid more, and the foreign cinematographer causes a stir by messing with a historic firehouse. As tensions rise, the movie producer arrives in town to help Price sort out the mess. Meanwhile, the film's screenwriter Joseph Turner White, struggles with writer's block while trying to adjust the script to fit the new location. The townspeople are swept up in the glamour of show business, but at what cost?
