A Lebanese woman named Therese is overjoyed when her daughter announces her engagement to a man from a neighboring village. However, she is shocked when she discovers that her future son-in-law is Syrian. Therese's hatred towards Syrians stems from her brother's death in a Syrian bomb attack during the Lebanese-Syrian war. Despite her attempts to sabotage the engagement, her daughter Ghada and her fiancé Samer continue to see each other in secret. When the truth about Therese's racism and her husband's infidelity is revealed, the family is torn apart. Will Therese be able to overcome her prejudices and accept Samer as her future son-in-law? Will Ghada and Samer's love be strong enough to withstand the challenges they face?
