...an unruly but rattling – and ravishing – work of art. On first watch, I wondered if there was anything to scratch beneath the surface... ...so I rewatched it almost right away and was surprised to find it still left me panting.

What is Snowpiercer about? Toggle content

Snowpiercer is a dystopian sci-fi movie set in a future where humanity's last survivors live on a massive train called the Snowpiercer, which endlessly circles the frozen world. The train is divided into sections with different classes, and tensions rise as the oppressed passengers in the back cars plan a revolution against the privileged few in the front. Curtis Everett (Chris Evans), the leader of the revolution, must overcome harsh conditions and confront Namgoong Minsoo (Song Kang-ho), a specialist who designed the train's security systems, and Wilford (Ed Harris), its enigmatic creator. The movie explores themes of class struggle, survival, and redemption in a harsh world where humanity's future seems bleak.
