In the depths of Auschwitz, a Hungarian Jew named Saul Ausländer finds himself forced to work in the Sonderkommando, a group of prisoners tasked with assisting the Nazis in their extermination efforts. Amidst the unspeakable horrors of the camp, Saul discovers a glimmer of hope when he comes across a young boy's body that he takes to be his son.
