Rurangi

Rurangi follows the journey of Caz Davis, a transgender activist who returns to his hometown of Rurangi after a decade away. Caz hopes to reconnect with his estranged father, who is struggling to accept his transition, and must face the people he abandoned, including his best friend Anahera and ex-boyfriend Jem, who are both grappling with their own emotions and identities. As Caz tries to rebuild relationships and find a sense of belonging in his old community, he must confront the past and the decisions that led him to where he is now. Set in a remote, politically divided dairy community, Rurangi explores themes of identity, family, love, and acceptance through the lens of Māori culture and tradition.
