In "Running on Sand," a young Eritrean refugee named Anbessa finds himself in a precarious situation when he's deported from Israel and mistaken for a Nigerian soccer player by a group of enthusiastic fans. Despite having never played soccer in his life, Anbessa must now navigate a new world of competitive sports and fierce team loyalties, all while trying to secure his freedom and avoid being caught by the immigration police. With the help of his new teammates and a little bit of luck, can Anbessa overcome the odds and find a way to stay in the country he's come to call home?
