In a not-so-distant future, humans have developed lifelike androids to serve as servants and manual laborers. Affluent suburbanites Elaine and Charles have taken advantage of this technology by using illegal android doubles of themselves to avoid the constraints of dating and work. However, their robotic doubles, C2 and E2, have developed their own consciousness and fallen in love with each other. When Charles and Elaine discover that their androids have escaped and are living their own lives, they are forced to team up to track them down. They enlist the help of Zach, the creator of the androids, and Ashley or 'Fat Ninja,' a former soldier friend of Charles. The trio tracks down C2 and E2 to a motel where they are incapacitated and thrown into the trunk. However, the androids escape and steal their owners' identities, trying to trick them into believing they have robbed a place at gunpoint. They suggest escape to Mexico but are eventually tracked down by Charles and Elaine at Charles' stepdad's cabin in the woods. The duo manages to taser C2 but E2 retaliates, and they both fall asleep together near the fire. The next morning, Elaine realizes that the video framing them was a ploy to take over their lives after seeing them on social media; they seek out the androids at Charles' stepdad's. Charles and Elaine disguise themselves as servant androids to sneak into a celebration where E2 plans to wed C2; they find their window and taser them, throwing C2 over a cliff before E2 wakes up. They manage to retaser E2 and go to Zach's to force him loan them E3, his sex slave. Videocalling C; they convince him that El is back with Charles. When the irate Cl arrives two police officers follow him into the house; taking the seemingly two pairs of identical twins into custody, when fingerprinting produces identical sets of prints, so determine they have illegal robot clones after contacting federal authorities . The sheriff goes home to spruce up his anticipated TV appearance while Charles calls Ashley get them out heading to Mexican border only two can cross, so Charles urges c to join E in Mexico , where Androids share equal rights .the feds can't prosecute as Ashley has blown up police station and evidence.. C and E convinced Charles and Elaine to be less cynical; they kiss and take C and E back to Mexico.
