In 1s976, A young Mi'gMaq Woman named Aila living on a Reservation with her father and mother. Her mother killed her brother in a drunk driving accident which leads to her father being imprisoned, and her mother taking her own life Aila is now a teenager and has to deal with her father's drug business and the Indian agent who is the principal of the boarding school, who is racist and has a history of abuse and violence toward the indigenous people, especially Aila's family. Aila works with her friends to steal money from the Indian agent to help her father. Still, in the process, she is arrested and sent to the boarding school, where she is freed, and they all seek revenge against the racist Indian agent.
