Back to Those Days tells the story of Tomek, a 14-year-old boy who has been living with his mother in Poland since his father, Alek, left for the United States to earn a living. One day, Alek unexpectedly returns home with gifts but no explanation for his sudden return. As Tomek and his family try to adjust to Alek's presence, they discover that he has brought with him a deep-seated addiction to alcohol. Forced to grow up too fast, Tomek must navigate the challenges of adolescence while also dealing with the fallout of his father's addiction. Set in the early 1990s, this powerful drama explores the complexities of family, identity, and the struggles of growing up in a changing world.
