Rangoon

Rangoon is a movie set during the Second World War, following the story of Julia, a leading film star, who is forced to entertain the troops at the Burma border while her lover, Billimoria, is coerced into accompanying her. Alongside, Nawab Malik, a soldier, is captured as a prisoner of war while running away from the Japanese infantry. The storyline follows the blossoming romance between Julia and Malik while exploring themes of loyalty, motivation and betrayal. Meanwhile, Zulfi, Julia's butler and a spy for the INA (Indian National Army), attempts to steal a gem-encrusted royal sword to fund the INA's artillery program. The movie takes us through their journey, revealing unexpected twists and turns that change the dynamics between all characters involved.
