Var ikke helt oppe at køre over denne, har det generelt LIDT svært med Bresson. Men giv den en chance hvis du er til art-movies, måske fanger du den bedre end jeg gjorde.

Pickpocket is a thought-provoking French drama film released in 1959, directed by Robert Bresson. The movie follows the story of Michel, a young man who becomes increasingly consumed by his desire to steal, elevating it to an art form. Michel's belief that certain individuals are above the law leads him to engage in pickpocketing, which he sees as a means of asserting his superiority over others. As he becomes more skilled and confident, he attracts the attention of a mysterious man who teaches him advanced techniques and recruits him to work together. The film explores themes of morality, psychology, and human relationships, delving into Michel's personal struggles and the consequences of his actions. Despite his criminal activities, Michel forms a bond with his friend Jacques and falls in love with Jeanne, a woman he meets through Jacques. However, their relationships become strained as Michel's obsession with thievery grows. The story takes a dramatic turn when Michel is arrested and realizes that his mother, who had been supporting him financially despite his criminal lifestyle, has died. This leads to a turning point in Michel's life, where he begins to question his beliefs and the direction his life has taken. Pickpocket features outstanding performances, notably by Martin LaSalle in the leading role, and a unique cinematography style that captures the tension and emotion of Michel's journey. With a runtime of 75 minutes, this movie is a gripping portrayal of human nature and its complexities that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is a must-see for fans of French cinema and those who appreciate thought-provoking dramas.
