In the vast and remote Mongolian steppe, a young and inexperienced policeman is tasked with securing the crime scene where a naked woman has been found murdered. As he struggles to navigate the harsh environment, a local herder is sent to guard him and the body. The resolute and skilled woman, in her mid-thirties, knows how to handle a rifle and protect them from the dangers of the night. As they huddle together for warmth, sharing alcohol and stories, they begin to form a bond that transcends their differences. The next morning, they must part ways, but the memory of their unlikely encounter will linger.
