Ocean Waves

Ocean Waves is a poignant and heartwarming animated drama that explores the complexities of adolescence, friendship, and love. The film follows the story of Taku Morisaki, a college student who recalls his high school days in Kochi, where he befriended a transfer student named Rikako Muto. Rikako is an intelligent and talented young woman who has just moved to Kochi from Tokyo with her mother. Despite her impressive credentials, she struggles to adapt to her new surroundings and becomes the subject of gossip among her classmates. Taku's friendship with Rikako blossoms during a school trip to Hawaii, where she asks him to lend her money after losing her own. When Rikako fails to repay him, Taku begins to wonder if he'll ever see his money again. However, their bond is put to the test when Yumi Kohama, Rikako's best friend, calls Taku in distress after discovering that Rikako has tricked her into going on a trip to Tokyo using Taku's money. Feeling responsible for the situation, Taku races to the airport and joins Rikako on her journey to Tokyo. Along the way, Taku learns more about Rikako's troubled past and discovers that she has been struggling with feelings of loneliness and isolation since moving away from Tokyo. As they spend more time together in Tokyo, their relationship deepens but is complicated by their conflicting emotions for each other. When they return home from their adventure in Tokyo; however; tensions between them rise as they struggle t express how they feel about one another.. Ultimately , though , their connection proves too strong , leading them down paths filled wit laughter , tears & self-discovery .
