Nocebo

Nocebo is a horror-thriller film that follows the story of a fashion designer, Christine, who is suffering from a mysterious illness that is puzzling her doctors and frustrating her husband, Felix. The couple's daughter, Bobs, is the only one who seems to be unaffected by the strange occurrences happening around them. One day, a Filipino carer named Diana arrives at their home, claiming to have been hired by Christine to help with her recovery. However, it soon becomes clear that Diana has a hidden agenda and is using traditional Filipino folk magic to punish Christine for her wrongdoings. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Christine had been involved in exploiting Filipino workers in her clothing line's sweatshop, and Diana's rituals are a form of revenge for the harm that Christine has caused. The film explores themes of guilt, punishment, and the supernatural forces that can be unleashed when people's actions have consequences.
