No Escape

In a dystopian future, a former marine, John Robbins, is sentenced to life in prison for murdering his commanding officer. He is sent to Absolom, a secret island where the worst prisoners are abandoned and left to fend for themselves. On the island, Robbins must fight for survival against a group of ruthless prisoners led by a sociopath named Walter Marek. After escaping from Marek's camp, Robbins joins a group of prisoners called the Insiders who have established a cooperative community. Despite the danger, Robbins is determined to escape the island and reveal the truth behind his actions. He convinces the Insiders to abandon their camp and lace it with booby traps before Marek attacks. In the process, Robbins learns that the Insiders have built a scan-proof boat and demands a seat in exchange for his help in retrieving a distributor for the boat's engine. However, they are captured by Marek before they can escape leading to a fight to the death between Robbins and Casey - a naive young man given a life sentence for a kidnapping accidentally leading to a dual felony murder - before Robbins escapes with the help of an Insider spy leaving Marek infuriated. With time running out for the terminally ill Father - leader of the Insiders - who has been secretly suffering from progressive Hodgkin lymphoma; he attempts to convince Robbins to take his place as leader, but he asserts his desire to escape Absolom.
