La Femme Nikita

La Femme Nikita is a 1990 French action thriller film directed by Luc Besson. The movie follows the story of Nikita, a young woman who is sentenced to life in prison for murder, but is given a second chance as a secret political assassin controlled by the government. Trained to be a stylish and deadly killer, Nikita works for the government while maintaining a normal life with her lover, Marco. However, her career as an assassin goes awry when a document-theft mission in an embassy goes wrong, and she is forced to go on the run. The film stars Anne Parillaud as Nikita and features Marc Duret, Jean-Hugues Anglade, Tchéky Karyo, Jeanne Moreau, Jean Reno, Jacques Boudet, Philippe Leroy, and Jean Bouise in supporting roles.
