With the help of his son, Nandamuri Harikrishna, and son-in-law Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, Rama Rao faces challenges and gains the faith of the people. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi takes notice of his growing influence and advanced the elections, but Rama Rao remains steadfast in his determination to restore the dignity of Telugu people. He makes many revolutionary changes in governance and stands up against corruption., even when it means going against his party members. The film reaches its climax as Rama Raos opponents try to dethrone him, but with the support of Chandrababu Naidu and the people, he emerges victorious in the end, his wife Basavaramatarakam passes away peacefully in his lap..
