In the swanky resort town of Saint-Tropez, a billionaire couple's luxurious mansion becomes the scene of a bungled murder attempt, threatening to ruin their glamorous summer party. With the help of his friend, the Minister of the Interior, the billionaire recruits the services of the best detective in Paris to investigate. However, the only detective available is a bumbling, arrogant officer who's just weeks away from retirement.
