You have to understand the rules of baseball to get the most of this. Nice portrait by Pitt though.

Frequently asked questions

What is Moneyball about? Toggle content

Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland Athletics, is on a mission to revolutionize the game of baseball. With a tight budget and a team of underdog players, Beane defies conventional wisdom and uses unorthodox methods to create a winning team. Joined by Peter Brand, a young economics graduate from Yale, Beane challenges the old-school traditions of baseball and puts together a diverse team of misfits who have one thing in common: they know how to get on base and score runs. As they face opposition from within and outside their own organization, Beane and Brand prove that you don't need expensive superstars to win in baseball - all you need is the right strategy and a willingness to challenge the status quo. Starring Brad Pitt as Billy Beane and Jonah Hill as Peter Brand, Moneyball is an inspiring true story about innovation, perseverance, and the power of underestimated talent.
