Midnight Sun

In a small coastal town, a young woman named Kaoru lives a life of solitude, forced to sleep during the day and roam the streets at night due to a rare medical condition that makes her allergic to sunlight. She finds solace in singing and playing the guitar on a street corner, where she captures the attention of a high school surfer named Kōji. Despite their initial embarrassment, they start talking and eventually, Kōji promises to listen to her sing again. As their friendship blossoms, Kaoru's health begins to deteriorate, and she loses feeling in her hands, making it impossible for her to play the guitar. However, she still has her voice and decides to record a debut single with Kōji's help. As they work on the CD, their bond grows stronger, and they share a romantic moment watching the sunrise. Tragically, Kaoru's condition worsens, and she passes away, leaving behind a legacy of music and memories that Kōji will always treasure. The film's title, "A Song to the Sun," symbolizes Kaoru's love for music and her determination to live life to the fullest despite the limitations imposed by her illness.
