Masquerade

In this historical drama set in Korea's Joseon Dynasty, King Gwang-hae, fearing assassination, orders his trusted councilor Heo Kyun to find him a royal body double. Ha-seon, a peasant mimic who bears a perfect resemblance to the King, is chosen and takes on the role of the monarch when the actual king is poisoned. As Ha-seon governs the country with fairness and compassion, he gains the respect and affection of the people and even the king's loyal advisors. But with his growing popularity comes the danger of being discovered and punished for usurping the throne. Will Ha-seon be able to continue his masquerade as the king or will his true identity be exposed, putting his life and the fate of Joseon Dynasty at risk?
