After being pressured by his family and friends to settle down, Marty meets Clara, a plain high school science teacher, at a dance hall.Sparks fly between them as they spend the evening together, but their relationship is threatened by Marty's friends and mother, who disapprove of Clara's plainness. and they try to convince him to remain unmarried and with them.
