Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms

In a world where humans and magical beings coexist, Maquia, a young orphan from a race of immortal weavers, discovers a baby boy in a destroyed village and decides to raise him as her own. As Ariel grows up, Maquia faces the challenges of being a single parent and maintaining her own immortality, all while keeping their existence a secret from the outside world. When the kingdom of Mezarte invades their homeland, seeking to exploit the Iorph's immortality for their own gain, Maquia and Ariel must flee and embark on a journey to protect their way of life and the people they love. Along the way, they encounter a cast of complex characters, including Krim, an Iorph friend of Maquia's who becomes Ariel's mentor. As the stakes grow higher and the threat to their existence becomes more real, Maquia must confront her own loneliness and learn to trust others in order to save her son and their community. Through their adventures, the film explores themes of family, friendship, love, loss, and the importance of preserving cultural heritage in the face of adversity.
