Lou Reed llevó a cabo a finales de 2006 en Nueva York la intepretación en directo, por primera vez en su integridad, de su mítico álbum Berlín, acompañado por una treintena de músicos y voces, entre los que se encontraban el guitarrista original del disco, Steve Hunter, e invitados como el cantante Antony. Julian Schnabel, que se encargó de la puesta en escena de los conciertos, filmó el acontecimiento, que ha tenido continuidad este verano con una gira europea.
