Austrian director and co-writer Jessica Hausner has taken an austere approach to her sci-fi horror film, both visually and tonally, which is an intriguing choice in contrast with its wild central idea.

Little Joe is a sci-fi drama film that tells the story of Alice, a dedicated plant breeder who creates a special flower that can make its owner happy.
