In the heart of Oklahoma, a teenage boy named Cal Chetley (Devon Graye) joins his high school's wrestling team, hoping to reunite his family and find his place in the world. Cal's father, a college wrestling legend, died in a car accident 10 years ago, leaving his mother Sharon (Patricia Clarkson) to raise Cal and his older brother Mike (John Cena) on her own. Mike, a former high school and college wrestling star, abandoned his family years ago, and Cal has been struggling to find his identity ever since. Despite his lack of athleticism, Cal is determined to prove himself and make his family proud. With the help of his coach, Harry "Red" Newman (Danny Glover), and his brother's secret coaching, Cal learns not only the art of wrestling but also the importance of family, forgiveness, and redemption. Will Cal's journey lead him to become a legendary wrestler like his father, or will he find a different path to greatness?
