Lear on the Shore is a poignant drama that follows the journey of Chokitsu, a former actor struggling with dementia. After being placed in a luxury retirement village by his daughter and son-in-law, Chokitsu longs to regain his lost fame and seek a new audience for his talents. As he escapes the village and wanders to the beach, he encounters his estranged younger daughter Nobuko, but due to his dementia, he doesn't recognize her.
