The Pirogue

The Pirogue tells the story of Baye Laye, a fishing pirogue captain in Senegal who is offered the chance to lead a dangerous journey to Europe via the Canary Islands. Despite his reservations, Baye accepts the job, leading a group of 30 men who don't all speak the same language and some of whom have never seen the sea. The journey is perilous, with the passengers facing hunger, thirst, extreme weather conditions, and uncertainty. As tensions rise and hope begins to dwindle, the fishermen are forced to confront the harsh realities of Europe's immigration policies when they finally reach Spain. Will they make it to their destination alive, and what will be their fate once they arrive?
