Calm at Sea

In occupied France, a group of young Communist resistance fighters shoot and kill a German officer. As retaliation, Hitler demands the execution of 150 Frenchmen. The French rural administrator is tasked with selecting the victims, mostly young men believed to share the assassins' political convictions. Despite appeals to their conscience, both the German military and their French helpers follow their orders, leading to a tragic fate for the chosen men. Calm at Sea is a powerful drama based on real events that highlights the horrors of war and the human cost of obeying orders blindly.
