La Belle Époque

La Belle Époque is a romantic comedy-drama film that tells the story of Victor, a disillusioned sexagenarian who is feeling disconnected from his wife Marianne and the modern world. His son Maxime, in an effort to lift his father's spirits, pays for an evening organized by his friend Antoine's company, Les Voyageurs du temps. The company offers its clients the opportunity to relive the era of their choice by combining theatrical artifices and historical reconstruction. Victor is initially hesitant but ultimately decides to take a chance and revisit the most memorable week of his life - the week he met his great love 40 years ago. The film takes place in two different time periods: the present day and 1974, when Victor was still young and carefree. Throughout the film, we see how Victor's experiences in both time periods intersect and how he finds himself getting lost in memories of a past long gone.
