In the early 1940s, a group of young writers, including Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and William S. Burroughs, came together at Columbia University in New York City. They were united by their passion for literature and their desire to break free from the constraints of society and tradition. As they delved deeper into their craft, they became embroiled in a web of drugs, alcohol, and sexual experimentation. Their lives took a dark turn when one of their own, David Kammerer, was found brutally murdered. Lucien Carr, a charismatic and troubled young man who was the central figure in the group's social circle, was arrested for the crime. As the investigation unfolded, it became clear that Kammerer had been involved in a predatory relationship with Carr and had pressured him into sexual favors in exchange for academic assistance.
