Ken Park

Ken Park is a provocative and unflinching portrayal of the lives of four teenagers living in Visalia, California. The film opens with the shocking suicide of Ken Park, a skateboarder who shoots himself in the temple with a handgun. The story then follows Shawn, Claude, Peaches, and Tate, each struggling with their own demons and desires. Shawn engages in an affair with his girlfriend's mother while trying to navigate his relationships with his family and friends. Claude endures physical and emotional abuse from his alcoholic father, all while caring for his pregnant mother. Peaches lives under the strict rule of her religious father, who becomes increasingly possessive and controlling. Tate's descent into madness is marked by violent outbursts and sexual deviance. As their paths cross and intersect, the film culminates in a raw and unsettling exploration of adolescent angst, sexuality, violence, and rebellion.
