Kanchivaram

In a small town in India, Kanchivaram tells the story of an impoverished silk weaver who has vowed to clothe his daughter in silk for her wedding day. As he struggles to keep his promise, he becomes embroiled in a communist movement fighting for better working conditions for silk weavers. But as he fights for the rights of his community, his own life is torn apart by tragedy. Will he be able to keep his word and give his daughter the silk saree she deserves?
