In "Kaddish for a Friend," a young Palestinian boy named Ali finds himself in a difficult situation after being forced to flee his home in Lebanon. Now living in Berlins' Kreuzberg district, Ali is desperate to fit in with his new community, but his desire for acceptance leads him down a dangerous path. In order to avoid being sentenced and deported, Ali must confront his greatest enemy and seek out a unlikely friendship with an old Russian Jewish man who lives in the neighboring flat. This moving and thought-provoking film tells a story of forgiveness, understanding, and the power of unlikely friendships to overcome even the deepest of divisions.
