Joaquim

In 18th century Brazil, a corrupt Portuguese minority rules over a society of enslaved Africans, indigenous people, and mixed-race individuals. Joaquim, a skilled soldier, is famous for capturing gold smugglers, but his dedication goes unrewarded. When he's sent on a dangerous mission to find new gold mines, he's inspired by the injustice he sees to become Tiradentes, the first leader of the Brazilian revolutionary movement, and fight for the freedom of his loved ones and the oppressed.
