In the year 2455, a spaceship carrying a cryogenically frozen Jason Voorhees, the notorious mass murderer, is on a mission to explore the abandoned Crystal Lake Research Facility. When the crew awakens Jason, he begins a bloody rampage, murdering the crew members one by one. The survivors, led by Professor Brandon Lowe, attempt to stop Jason, but their efforts prove futile. As they try to escape, they discover that Jason has been upgraded with cybernetic enhancements, making him even more formidable. In a desperate bid to stop Jason, the survivors sacrifice themselves to explosives, leaving only a few survivors to face off against the cyborg killer. In the end, it takes a holographic simulation of Camp Crystal Lake and a doomed spaceship pilot to distract Jason long enough for the survivors to escape. But as they flee, they realize that Jason's charred mask has been left behind, sinking to the bottom of a lake on Earth II, leaving the possibility of his return open.
