In the small town of Ithaca, California, 14-year-old Homer Macauley is determined to be the best bicycle telegraph messenger ever. With his older brother gone to war, Homer takes on the responsibility of supporting his widowed mother, older sister, and young brother. As he delivers messages of love, hope, and death to the townspeople, Homer grapples with the realities of war and growing up. Based on William Saroyan's novel, The Human Comedy, ITHACA is a coming-of-age story about the exuberance of youth, the sweetness of life, and the modesty and goodness that lives in each of us.
