Into the Wild

Into the Wild is a 2007 drama-adventure film directed by Sean Penn, based on the true story of Christopher McCandless, a young Emory University graduate who abandoned his comfortable life to live in solitude in the Alaskan wilderness. After giving his savings to charity and leaving his possessions behind, McCandless sets off on an adventure across the country before settling in an abandoned city bus in a remote area north of Denali National Park and Preserve. Living off the land, he hunts wild game, reads, and keeps a journal while preparing for his new life in the wild. The film explores themes such as freedom, self-discovery, and the search for meaning in life, as McCandless faces challenges from the harsh environment and grapples with his own identity.
