In America

In America (2002) A struggling Irish immigrant family, led by a hardworking and proud father, Johnny, and his devoutly Catholic wife, Sarah, attempt to make a new life for themselves in New York City's Hell's Kitchen, while still grieving the death of their young son, Frankie. The family faces numerous challenges, including poverty,elusive job opportunities, and a harsh urban environment. Despite these obstacles, they try to hold on to their sense of hope and their closeness as a family. The story is told through the eyes of their two young daughters, Christy and Ariel, who chronicle their experiences with a cherished camcorder. Along the way , they encounter an eccentric Nigerian artist/photographer named Mateo Kuamey, who becomes a source of inspiration and support for the family. As they navigate their new life in America, they must confront their own personal struggles and come to terms with the past. Will they be able to overcome the odds and build a better future for themselves, or will they succumb to the harsh realities of their new home?
