Illusion

In the sweltering heat of post-colonial Manila, a young man named Miguel arrives in the city to visit his estranged father, a renowned Modernist painter. When he discovers his father has left for the province, Miguel decides to stay and explore the city, but his plans take an unexpected turn when he meets Stella, a beautiful nude model. Posing as his father, Miguel begins a relationship with Stella that is built on lies and deception. As they navigate their surreal surroundings, Miguel becomes increasingly consumed by his own desires and the strange skin disease that afflicts Stella. With a cast of eccentric characters orbiting around them, the lines between reality and illusion blur in this thought-provoking drama.
