Ikigami: The Ultimate Limit

In a dystopian Japan, the government implements a controversial law to control the population and encourage people to live their lives to the fullest. Every year, 1 in 1000 young people are randomly selected to die for the state, with only 24 hours' notice. The chosen ones receive a "Death Letter" and are entitled to free transportation, lodging, and food for their last day alive. The film follows three individuals who have been selected to die, each with their own unique story and way of coping with their fate. Meanwhile, a letter handler who delivers the Death Letters must also come to terms with his role in this brutal system. Will the fear of death inspire people to live better lives, or will it lead to rebellion against the oppressive government?
