In this controversial and thought-provoking film, a group of disillusioned students at a traditional British public school for boys decide to take matters into their own hands and stage a violent rebellion against their oppressive school system. Led by the charismatic and rebellious Mick Travis, the group of three lower sixth-formers - Mick, Wallace, and Knightly - become increasingly dissatisfied with the strict rules and harsh punishments enforced by the school's authoritarian regime. As they plot their revolution, the boys face off against their oppressors, including the sadistic and manipulative Whips (upper sixth-formers given authority as prefects) and the school's remote and ineffective headmaster. The tension builds as the group acquires weapons and prepares to take drastic action against their tormentors. The film culminates in a dramatic showdown on Founders' Day, when the students, armed with firearms and mortars, open fire on the staff and parents who are visiting the school. The chaos that ensues is both shocking and mesmerizing, as the camera closes in on Mick's face, his eyes filled with determination and defiance.
