In 1925, professional football is struggling to find its footing. Jimmy "Dodge" Connelly (George Clooney), a charismatic player and captain of the Duluth Bulldogs, is determined to save his team and the sport itself. He recruits Carter "The Bullet" Rutherford (John Krasinski), a war hero and college football star, to join the Bulldogs and help bring excitement back to the game.
