How to Win at Checkers (Every Time)

In the movie "How to Win at Checkers (Every Time)," an 11-year-old boy named Oat will stop at nothing to keep his gay older brother, Ek, from being drafted into the Thai military. Believing that his brother's military service will ruin his life, Oat resorts to desperate measures to raise money for bribes to exempt Ek from conscription. However, as Oat's actions become increasingly dangerous and illegal, he begins to realize the consequences of his choices and must confront the harsh realities of growing up in Thailand.
