Havoc follows the story of a well-respected literary critic, Ole Jastrau, who is struggling with his own disillusionment with life. As he allows a left-wing writer, Steffensen, to move into his home, his perfectly constructed middle-class life begins to unravel. The presence of Steffensen and his associates sparks tension within the household, particularly between Jastrau and his wife. Jastrau's inner turmoil intensifies as he grapples with his own identity and purpose, leading to a downward spiral of self-destruction. The film explores themes of disillusionment, rebellion, and the deconstruction of a seemingly perfect life.
