In the Czech Republic, a struggling farmer named Kača resorts to illegal moldavite mining to make ends meet after his collective farm goes bankrupt. He convinces his geologist friend Pavel, who's recently married, to join him in the risky venture. As they delve deeper into their illicit enterprise, they face challenges from the law, their personal relationships, and their own moral compasses. Will their pursuit of fortune come at a too high a cost?
